Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Spine Surgery

At Vanderbilt, our minimally invasive spine surgery options can help get you get back to your daily activities faster.

We have one of the few spine centers in the country with experts who can treat select spine conditions with endoscopic surgery, which is an outpatient procedure. Endoscopic surgery uses a very small incision and may reduce the need for narcotic pain medication after surgery and help you recover faster.

In some cases, endoscopic surgery can be done in an outpatient setting while you remain awake with local anesthesia. With awake spine surgery, there is often less pain, faster recovery and fewer side effects. Awake spine surgery can be a great option for people who don’t tolerate anesthesia well.

Our team works with you to find the surgery option that works best for your needs.
