I've seen several doctors lately and Dr Thigpen made me understand more about what was going on with me in ten minutes then the others did in several visits. I truly appreciate the way he spoke to me and he was so very kind.

Arrived for my first prenatal visit( at 11 weeks as was first available)After intake and urine sample I was then advised that no ultrasound was available.I would have preferred to have been made aware of this prior to the visit as I would have rescheduled. This provider reviewed nothing about my history; The only historical questions for the duration of the first OB visit were from the RN regarding family history of drug use/dependence.The MD documented that he reviewed retinol use- he did not; he documented that I am low risk for gestational diabetes and HTN though I have a personal history; he documented that anticipatory guidance was given though none was. The only thing the provider asked was do you have any questions for meMy MD did not review or ask about my high risk first pregnancyWhen my husband asked how a previous acreta dx would affect this pregnancy or change his management he replied he will get an US at 20 weeks ( this is standard of care for all patients) MD complained about having had a shoulder injection earlier in the day and seemed too preoccupied with his pain to actually conduct an appropriate visit. As a PA myself and my husband who is a physician ( and present for this visit) were extremely disappointed with the quality of care received; and even more so that Vanderbilt makes it increasing difficult to change providers.
